TRUE OR FALSE
The claim that Rajamma Vavathil is 62-year-old is false. She is in fact 72.
We searched about Rajamma Vavathil on Google and came across several news reports that confirm her age as 72.
A couple of months ago, when there was a controversy about Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship, Outlook had done a detailed story about Rajamma where it is mentioned that she was 23 at the time of Rahul Gandhi’s birth. The report mentions she was working at a hospital in New Delhi where Rahul Gandhi was born.
Another report in The Hindu about the meeting of nurse Rajamma and Rahul also says that she is 72 years old.
Therefore, the claim that Rajamma Vavathil was 13 years old at the time of Rahul Gandhi’s birth is false. She was 23 year old when Gandhi was born.
Rahul Gandhi has been the target of fake news factory since a long time. Recently, we debunked a fake claim which said that Pakistani flags were raised at Rahul Gandhi victory celebration in Wayanad.
