New Delhi: On June 21 India celebrated International Yoga Day by performing various asanas early in the morning and reiterated the importance of this ancient practice of subtle science which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body.
The theme of 5th International Yoga Day 2019 is “Climate Action,” and Prime Minister Modi celebrated the occasion at Jharkhand’s capital city Ranchi at Prabhat Tara ground. PM Modi said, “We all know the importance of Yoga very well. It has always been an important part of our culture. But now we all have to take the practice of Yoga to another level.”

In TMC ruled West Bengal, citizens of Kolkata along with CISF personnel practiced yoga at Victoria Memorial’s premises.
At Guwahati’s Kamakhya Temple Sadhus come together to perform yoga.
President Ram Nath Kovind along with other officials performed Yoga indoors at Rashtrapati Bhavan’s ceremonial hall. The President said, “It’s not just an event, it’s a way to make yoga an integral part of our life.”
Troops of Assam Rifles, CRPF, Police and civilians performed Yoga at Indo – Myanmar border despite bad weather & rain to celebrate the 5th International Yoga Day (ANI)
Participants in the national capital perform Yoga in a perfect synchronisation at Rajpath.
Indian Army personnel practice Yoga at higher reaches of the Himalayas.
Also spotted at Ranchi were two animated characters Motu Patlu, because Yoga is for everyone.
Navy personnel performed Yoga on-board INS Ranvir which is stationed in the Bay of Bengal.
