BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya thrashes civic official with bat, later says ‘this is our line of action’

The civic official had come to raze a building in Indore.

New Delhi: In a shocker from Madhya Pradesh, BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya, who is the son of senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, was caught on camera beating up a municipal corporation official with a cricket bat. Akash was arrested later in the day.

The municipal employee had come to demolish a reportedly illegal building in Ganji Compound of Indore when, amid full public glare and cameras of the media, Akash Vijayvargiya roughed him up after an argument.

It was after police from three stations, along with the SSP of the area, reached the spot that the situation could be brought under control.

In the viral video of the incident, MLA Vijayvargiya was seen threatening the officer and saying, “You should leave within five minutes or else whatever happens next will be your responsibility.”

Even as the incident blew up into a row, Akash Vijayvargiya remained unfazed, claiming the Congress was ‘conspiring with the municipal corporation and buying out old houses’.

“Sajjan Singh’s (Congress MLA and Minister of Public Works Department and Environment in MP government) goons came and started razing the house. I sent my karyakartas to the spot and after they sent me a picture, it was clear that the house was kaccha but there was no need to demolish it.”

Vijayvargiya further said, “This is just the beginning, we will end this corruption & goondaism. ‘Aavedan, nivedan aur fir dana dan‘ this is our line of action. Gangs dragged women out of their houses by their feet, women police should’ve been with them. When I reached there, people got angry at the officers & chased them away, we have come to the station to register FIR against the officers.”
